Precast Concrete Sound Wall

The Sound Barrier and Sierra Wall is constructed of panels of 4-inch thick, steel reinforced concrete with an integral column. The panels are securely joined by a tongue and groove connection. The width and height of sections are variable, depending on the application.

The durability and maintenance characteristics of precast concrete and low installation costs make Sierra Wall the most economical buy when compared to metal or wood structures. This wall system has the additional advantage of being movable if boundaries change or highways are relocated.

Residential

The variety of finishes available for the Sound Barrier and Sierra Wall makes this system the only concrete wall that is easily adapted to blend with local architectural designs. Whether used as an enclosure around patios or gardens, to screen a roadway, as a privacy wall between homes and apartments, as a security fence or as a windbreak, the wall blocks out sight, sound, wind and intruders and closes in quiet beauty.

Industrial

The Sound Barrier and Sierra Wall simultaneously screens industrial operations from nearby landowners, provides a noise barrier and protects businesses from intruders. Complex zoning problems created by the need for industries and homeowners to coexist in harmony are tastefully resolved to the benefit of all by the Sound Barrier and Sierra Wall.

Highway

The Sound Barrier and Sierra Wall is widely recognized and accepted as an effective sound barrier system. Standard highway sections measure 12' from center to center and can be manufactured to heights up to and exceeding 20'.

Interstate Sound Wall

Additional noise abatement benefits are available with the use of Sound-Lok©, our exclusive sound-absorbing acoustical surface of interconnecting microcells that exceeds all ASTM noise reduction standards.

Commercial

The stately Sound Barrier and Sierra Wall screens and protects commercial property, allowing shopping centers and institutions to be conveniently and compatibly located near residential areas.

Retaining Wall

The strength, permanence, and weather-resistant qualities of concrete make it the best material for retaining walls. For retaining wall applications, the Sound Barrier and Sierra Wall is made with additional reinforcing steel. A variety of buttressing methods are used for installation.

Installation

Traffic Sound WallInstallation of appropriate foundation piers is completed prior to delivery of Sound Barrier and Sierra Wall panels. As each panel is off-loaded, it is slipped into the adjacent panel with a secure tongue and groove connection. The installation is completed by welding or bolting together the steel mounting plates on the foundation piers and the plates on the base of the columns. (Stainless steel plates are optional.) The speed with which the wall can be installed results in minimal delay for the contractor.
