Smith-Midland Corporation is pleased to announce that they are providing the
architectural precast concrete panels for the construction of
the Twinbrook Place Office Building in Rockville, Maryland.
The contract for the concrete panels awarded to Smith-Midland is valued at $1.4
million and features 35,847 square feet of architectural precast
panels. The panels are white with light acid wash and gray with heavy acid wash.
The gray panels have a special aggregate that will be the prominent
feature of the panels.
The office building is being developed and constructed by Uniwest Construction
of Falls Church, Virginia. The seven- story, Class "A" Leed Certified Silver
office building will contain 140,562 rentable square feet of
office space with over 425 under and above ground parking spaces.
According to Ashley Smith, President and COO of Smith-Midland, "the owners chose
Smith-Midland because we offered the best overall value for the project and the
most favorable delivery schedule."
The project was awarded in April 2008 and production began in August 2008. The
erection of the building is scheduled for completion in early 2009.
