George Sharikas is a firm believer that you should never stop
learning. So the Warrenton resident, who already holds a marketing
degree from George Mason University, keeps hitting the books hoping to get
a better idea of how to plan his work and better manage his day. Ultimately,
he feels that continuing education will allow him to expand his
business skills.
Sharikas, 26, has lived in or near Warrenton his entire life. He
graduated from Fauquier High School in 1999 and George Mason
University in 2004. He is now back at George Mason taking a project
management course to gain the basics of project management. . . how to plan,
execute, control and complete projects. Following the completion
of the course, Sharikas will take the Project Management Professional (PMP)
Examination and, upon passing, will become PMP certified. One of the
most valued credentials in project management, the PMP credential assures
employers that you are committed to project management. Earning and maintaining
this credential demonstrates a solid foundation of experience in effectively
managing projects.
Sharikas plans to utilize his new skills in his position
as a sales representative for Smith-Midland Corporation in Midland. In
this position, Sharikas is part of the sales team responsible to
expand Smith-Midland’s sales of innovative, high quality precast
concrete products.
