Smith-Midland's 50th Year Anniversary Celebration

Smith-Midland is celebrating 50 years as an innovative developer and producer of a wide variety or precast concrete products. It was founded in 1960 by David G. Smith as the Smith-Cattleguard Co. The company began when its founder built the first concrete cattleguard for his father-in-law, who was tired of having to open and close the gate. Half a century later, the company is now producing a wide array of precast concrete products.

"We're proud of this company, which is still a family company at its heart," said Rodney Smith, CEO and son of the company's founder. "Despite its humble beginnings, Smith-Midland has grown into a successful company that posted revenues of more than $29 million last year, the most profitable year in our history."
